Elemental Ayurveda: Fire to Burn
Here we explore the third element in Ayurveda, Fire or Tejas. It is this fire that propels us into action, movement and from a digestion standpoint, our metabolism.
It's organ of action is the feet and is connected to the sense of sight; knowing where you are going helps a lot! Having qualities of being hot, dry, subtle, mobile, sharp, rough, hard and clear, the fire element fuels us into action but if not moderated can tend to burn us up. If your constitution tends towards Pitta or if you might be working with a Pitta imbalance look carefully at your daily routines and the foods you gravitate towards.
For further detail on this element, follow the link below, lots of good stuff to digest! For now let's explore the Fire element in our practice.
Go easy in the hot summer months, consider the sequence here and observe the heat within your body, moderate and take rest if it is too much or you are over heating.
